Township Trustees
Pulaski County comprises twelve civil townships, most of them nominally six miles by six miles square and coinciding with Public Land Survey System survey townships. (Monroe Township extends eastward, “stealing” part of what should be Harrison Township based on the P.L.S.S.) The eastern boundary of Pulaski County follows the Second Principal Meridian; from east to west and south to north, Pulaski County’s townships are ranges 1 West through 4 West, townships 29 North through 31 North. Each civil township is served a township trustee and an advisory board. Township-government responsibilities include securing fire protection, maintaining cemeteries and parks, and providing poor relief.
